There are many types of lists best described by the characteristics of the individuals or organizations on the list or by the source of the names on the list. For example, a list may consist of catalog house customers, or it may be a compiled list of medical professionals taken from various directories, a list of magazine subscribers, or a prospect list of people expected to be good customers once promoted.
