Biography

Spanish singer/songwriter José Ramón San Juan got involved in music at the age of 15, while joining a short-lived pop band. Soon, the artist started composing, moving to Madrid at the age of 18 to study journalism. In the late '60s, José Ramón San Juan formed a folk act called Canción del Pueblo, joined by local number Nuevos Juglares. In 1973, the singer made the decision to dedicate himself to his profession and poetry, returning to music in 1991 and joining a songwriters group known as Cantera. In 1998, José Ramón San Juan released his first album called Tierra de Nadie, followed by 2001's Nación Humana. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
