Balthazar (also spelled Balthasar or Balthassar), is a traditional name for one of the anonymous Three Wise Men in the Gospel of Matthew. It is widely agreed that he was of African descent or a man of dark color. The others below are named for him. It is also an alternate form of the Babylonian king Belshazzar, mentioned in the Book of Daniel.
